What's the legal window tint limit in California?

California law requires front side windows to allow at least 70% of light through (70% VLT). Windshields can only be tinted along the top 4 inches. Rear side windows and the back window have no VLT restriction — you can go as dark as you want back there. California also allows a medical exemption for people with documented conditions requiring additional UV protection, which permits darker front side windows with a physician's certification. We install to legal limits by default and will walk you through your options for the rear glass when you come in.

Does ceramic tint still reject heat if the fronts stay at 70% VLT?

Yes. Visible Light Transmission (how dark it looks) is not the same as infrared heat rejection. 3M ceramic films can reject up to 95% of IR heat per 3M, varying by film and shade, even on lighter legal fronts. That is why Los Angeles and Long Beach drivers keep the fronts legal and still feel the cabin difference. Stop by for the heat-lamp demo — no appointment needed to put your hand on it.

Do you computer-cut the film?

No. Most shops feed your vehicle year and model into a plotter and let a machine cut a generic pattern. We hand-cut every piece on a glass board, then fit it to your glass with a micro edge that sits flush to the glass line. Plotter jobs are faster. They also leave gaps at the edge or film creeping past the glass. Tesla roofs, EQS windshields, and Hummer EV polycarbonate are why the extra time matters.

Is a payment plan available?

Yes. A payment plan is available through our payment plan partner. Apply online, then schedule the install. Decision timing is controlled by that partner, not by our shop. We do not promise approval. See the Payment Plan page.

Does ceramic film interfere with electronics?

3M ceramic and color-stable lines are designed not to interfere with electronics the way some metalized films can. We confirm the right tier when we quote your vehicle.

How long does a tint job take?
